Midweek Momentum: When Plans Fall Apart, Pay Attention
Hi friend,
You can plan every hour of your day, set up routines, and feel totally in control—until life decides otherwise.
Maybe a meeting runs long, an urgent issue pops up, or someone needs you at the worst possible time. It’s easy to see these moments as setbacks. But what if they aren’t?
Some of the best opportunities in life come from things you didn’t plan for. A chance encounter, an unexpected call, or even a full-blown derailment can end up being exactly what you needed.
Next time something interrupts your day, instead of asking, Why is this happening?, try asking, What is this offering me? The shift in perspective might just turn an obstacle into your next big break.
STORIES FROM THE PATH: THE 200-BOX SURPRISE
Picture this. I’m about to head out for another boring college class when my phone rings. It’s my business partner, and he says, “I’ve just acquired 200 boxes of books from a moving company, and they all need to be moved today.”
Well, there went my plans. My schedule for the next week was completely thrown off. Every spare moment was spent sorting, scanning, and processing those boxes. It was chaotic, exhausting, and, honestly, pretty overwhelming at times.
But here’s the thing. It was also one of the most profitable weeks we ever had. That unexpected opportunity came out of nowhere, and because we said yes, it turned into something incredible.
Opportunities will come at the strangest times. The question is, are you flexible enough to grab the ones that matter?
YOUR SHORTCUT TO ADAPTING QUICKLY
If unexpected changes tend to throw you off track, here’s something that can help.
I put together a 5-Step Flexibility Framework to help you stay adaptable without losing momentum. Whether it’s a shift in plans, a sudden opportunity, or a challenge you didn’t see coming, this will help you navigate change and turn it into something valuable.

The most successful people aren’t the ones who never get thrown off course. They’re the ones who know how to adjust fast.
QUICK WIN: THE 2-MINUTE CHECK-IN
Take two minutes today to check in with yourself. Ask:
What’s one thing I’m proud of this week?
What’s one thing I’d like to improve tomorrow?
It’s a quick and simple way to reflect, refocus, and keep moving forward with intention.
Stay focused (or at least pretend to),
Jonathan
